Before you go

Documents: a licensed towing company with written authorization to remove your vehicle, including the address, the car’s year, make and model, VIN, and license plate number.

Payment: Cash, Credit/debit cards. Call ahead to confirm.

TimeLimit: Storage fees accrue daily. Vehicle may be auctioned after 30 days.

Check for tow-away signs at the location where your car was parked. Signs must display the tow company name and phone number.

If after 24 hours the vehicle owner has not removed a vehicle believed abandoned on private property, the property owner may have it towed. In emergency situations (vehicle interferes with property access or safety), immediate removal is allowed.

Towing companies and operators must be licensed by the Indiana Secretary of State. The Indiana Administrative Code establishes maximum rates for towing fees, which must be conspicuously posted.
