Private Property Rules
A towing authority may not tow a motor vehicle from public property unless a peace officer or parking enforcement officer has prepared a written towing report describing the vehicle and reasons for towing. Both the officer and tow truck driver must sign the report. Private property towing guidelines also exist under state law.
